Maricopa County Poll Workers and Observers are needed for the 2010 Primary (August 24), and General (November 2), Elections!

- What are the requirements?
- You must be a U.S. citizen registered to vote in Maricopa County.
- What will be expected of me, what are my duties?
- Duties vary according to the position chosen. Everything is extremely “user friendly”. Inspectors, Judges, and all first-time boardworkers ( a.k.a. poll workers), are required to attend a training class approximately 2-6 weeks before the actual Election Day (typically 2hrs), you will also need to help set-up the polling place the Monday before the Election. On Election Day you must be at the polling place at 5:30 A.M., and work until approximately 8:00 P.M. that evening, or until all the work is done.
- Do I get paid?
- Yes, again depending on the position chosen. The County Elections Dept. pays approximately $110. - $115. / election for poll workers.
- Please Note: Observers represent the Party, and are volunteer positions.
- Can I work at a location near my home?
- Yes. You may choose to work your own precinct (and County Elections will honor that), but keep in mind that County Elections Dept. calls those who are willing to work a different precinct (usually no more than 10 – 15 miles from your home), first.
